The Bow River today in my neighbourhood...

These pictures are just a few minutes walk down to the River from my home... We are lucky we didn't have to evacuate . Lots of damage here today in the Downtown core and other areas along the swollen Rivers Path...

What a horror show. I hear it's up to the tenth row of seats in the Saddledome. Yikes! Have relatives in Canmore (like Banff, cut off by mudslides on the T-Can) but they're on higher ground so OK so far. You're in the thoughts of all Quebeckers, and we're rooting for you.

My heartfelt best wishes to everyone in the Calgary area. We went through such massive floods in this area two years ago when the Mohawk River and tributaries produced damaging floods. Homes were washed away and roads and bridges disappeared. Even a few years later they're still repairing some of the damage caused by those floods and lots of people still don't have their homes back..

Thanks for the support. We are very lucky here being so close to the River. We have phone internet and power. Downtown power has been shut off and could be off for sometime into next week.

My thoughts and prayers to those effected by this catastrophe in Southern Alberta...
