thanks for sharing...I was reading the comments on the bottom of the page and I'm thinking this guy has it down what the photographer is doing.

What makes these photographs interesting isn't that they have a long exposure. They actually don't - a second or two at the most. What makes them distinctive is that the photographer adjusted the focus while the shutter was open. You can see where the light is in sharper focus versus when it's not - that's what gives it the cool shapes you see.

I have 3 nights too, the 3rd, 4th and 6th...but you get to tell us about your results first. I not very confident about being able to do this myself.

photonphysicist: Thanks for this link as well. I use to do stuff like that in the 35 mm days. Zoom while lens was open. Awesome stuff.
