I recently started investigating the potential of HDR.
This is a single shot rendition that I did from a series on the Chiricahua National park in southern Arizona.
I find the results facinating. Especially since this technique can be applied to single photos.
Make comments if you like.

I'll admit I know little about process. My understanding is that is mosly known for the vivid colors. You picture would seem to make that point. I am curious if you have ever tried it for black & whites as I am not nearly pleased with these when shot in digital. Seems many lack the tonal range. Thanks for sharing.

hi,
the sharpness seems alittle off ,but the color is nice.
i too have a camera that has hdr built in,i have also tried 2 to 5 brackted shots useing a merge editor with fair results.the alignment is the tricky part.
I just submitted an HDR image in b & w. Take a peek. I would be interested in your opinion. Lucy
Henyrcrafter ----I thank you for your time and effort. Looks to me like this might be an option to at least become familar with. What is your impression? What do others think?
I have tried this method on portraits and was underwhelmed.
Perhaps I need to study more.
Understand that most of my photography is done on 120 film asa 160 and 400 using a Mamiya RB67. I also use a Luna Pro sbc external light meter.
The digital thatI do is using a Canon 20d.
What name do you post under? I looked in pictures and could not find you.

If you in fact are addressing me "notnoBuddha" that is where I can be found. I believe you could also click on my profile to see my listings. If the question is not for me - well then never mind.

If you click on her profile then her "introduce yourself" she has several of her pictures
can you tell me that, when we should use HDR photo?in which situation??
In my humble, know little opinion I would say that is a matter of personal taste - the debate. The big selling point seems to be that the process improves the resolution, the saturation - makes the colors POP. If it actually does is in the eye of the beholder.
Since we're on the subject, here are a couple of mine. (These are "true" HDR images, produced from three or more exposures.)
