I am looking for advice about setting up a website. I am on Flicker, but I would like to have a personal website. Is there a way for me to do that with little or no cost, and very easy to upload photos?

Would really appreciation suggestions about this. Thanks, Ceil

I set up a free website for our community association (it's free for everyone) on weebly.com. It's fairly simple & yet gives you more control of placement etc. than other free ones I've experimented with.

Try Zenfolio, they offer a basic service, you can tailor the website to your needs, you can purchase a more expensive version if you wish, each time you move up the website chain the more bells and whistles you get.
Their URL is www.zenfolio.com
You can rebrand the site to reflect your company or the name you desire,
their uploader is fast of course depending on your connection speed. They are a reliable company, and you can select the printing options you wish, set the prices you wish, share layouts with customers or clients, send them a link to a photo shoot and password protect that shoot so they can see and preview the photos without other prying eyes if you wish. They also have options now to upload full 1080HD vids.
If you do choose Zenfolio, (and I know the name is weird) but their performance as a website host is not. Please use my referral code 6PR-UT2-Q8Z
You can also use keywords to make you site searchable from Google, Yahoo or Bing a few keystrokes.

Smugmug's a great option for $40 per year. You can use your own URL if you want and customize your site. The pro account lets you charge for downloads and mark-up prints.

I tried Intuit when I first started out. An inexpensive option for sure, but as far as a photography website goes, it has too many limitations. No slideshow capability, private galleries and online ordering of prints. Of course it's been a couple of years, maybe it's better now.

I used GoDaddy. Paid $27 for the tool to set it up. Then I pay $9.50 a month for 10 pages. Works for me. I got free email address that looks more professional than a gmail or yahoo whayever.

Another Happy Zenfolio user here.
their customer service is top rate.
2 years ago I was on vacation in Florida, I was copying a few hundred photos from multiple folders to one folder to make it easier for a customer to view them. I somehow deleted the photos. There I was in Florida, the original files were at home in Pennsylvania, not good.
I emailed customer service, explained my situation, they told me they could recover the photos, but it might take 24-48 hours. I was relieved.
then surprised when I discovered that the photos had been recovered within an hour
