Did anyone rush out and purchase this yet? I'm curious to hear an early review of some of the new filters & features (i.e. ACR 8.1)---especially, the new Shake Reduction filter. Also, how was your purchasing experience with Adobe online? Thanks, -Mark

I'm retired and on a fixed income and not willing to put out $50 a month in "rental" fees.

I don't think anybody has got the bottle yet. I'm ashamed to say I'm still hammering my hardcopy PS7.
Years old but does the job for me or am I not as experienced as majority of the UH members?

I don't have or want Photoshop, but I do have Lightroom, and also will not be going into the cloud. I took the Beta version of Lightroom and have until the 30th to decide, and I plan on waiting to the last minute before upgrading because I think they are going to wind up rethinking their strategy with all the flack against the cloud.

I think Adobe's move to the cloud increased sales of Cs6. I felt like it was a last chance to "own" photoshop. If they change their policy in the future I will upgrade. In the mean time I think we are all waiting for the next genius to creat an alternative.

As I understand it, if you are a professional and have several or all of their products and keep them all upgraded at all times, it will save you money by subscribing as all will be upgraded under the yearly (or monthly) subscription, rather than pay as you go upgrades. Lightroom will be available as stand alone if you don't want to subscribe.
I hope the 11 people who have all products and keep them upgraded keep them in business!

I have PS CS6. I am not planning to get PS CC and have to add one more monthly bill to my credit card. If you do the math, Creative Cloud is not a good investment if you are just subscribing to one application. It does make sense financially if you subscribe to multiple applications.

I have just updated to ACR 8.1 in PS CS6. When this ACR version is installed in PS CS6, it does not offer any of the new features advertised for PS CC. However, it is good enough for me.

I'm not retired, but I'm cheap. I won't lie, I like CS6 a lot. It's not my primary editing software, but it does some of the heavy lifting for me when I need it. I'm not sure the upgrade is worth it for me based on my needs, but let's be fair with Adobe's pricing...

A single-app subscriptions is $20 per month, with a discount of $10 per month if you already own CS3 or later (for the first year). So for me, the price will be $120 the first year. After this, the price will go up to $240. The current retail price of CS6 is $699. At Amazon I can get it for slightly less at $675. When I purchased my upgraded version of CS6 as an existing owner of CS3 I paid $199.

I'm not providing an argument pro or con, but I just wanted to make sure everyone understands the correct pricing. Of course, I was really hoping to hear from those who have purchased Photoshop CC already and what they thought of it. Even if it was a free upgrade to me, I would still like to hear the benefits of upgrading from someone who doesn't have any skin in Adobe's game. Thanks, -Mark

Not $50. $20 if you do not already have PS, $10 if you do and that is good for the first year.

Not $50.00 - that is for the WHOLE Adobe Suite

OK, perhaps an exaggeration. 10 people.

I have CS5 and will not be going to the cloud, I think it is just a way of making even more money out us photographers who have supported them for years and encouraged others. If they do not rethink this strategy I for one will go else where when I need to update for some reason. Same goes for Microsoft only the missus won't move to Mac.

I watched a few minutes of a LR5 presentation yesterday, and the presenter said that with LR5, most people will not need PS.
