I work at an agency where we have to deal with counterfeit cigarettes. It's a very large sum of money lost from that. Apparently most everything is being counterfeited in one way or another. Thanks for posting.

You wouldn't believe what happens in the computer industry. Cisco had to use what's called digital signatures on their boards so that their OS wouldn't load on the knockoffs. Their suppliers (primarily Chinese) would build say 20K boards and tell Cisco that 2500 were ruined or didn't meet QC during manufacture. The problem was that most of those 2500 boards ended up in the grey market, and people would try and get Cisco to do the Warranty work. In fact, every person I've talked to (maybe a dozen) who have had the Chinese manufacture items for them, has reported "mystery" copies showing up on exporter sites within months of production start.
