Looks promising, priced at $99. I sent them an email to see if they are going to be offering a droid platform version anytime soon. I think this would be great for on the go photos.

First, he has to get enough people to back him financially. Then he can get it produced.

Don't smartphones already have lightmeter apps?

They have already reached their goal of 20,000 and are at 24,567 if you pledge $99 you receive the meter, (retail price will be $149).

Lightmeters apps are not that great, I've tried them. As I said this looks promising but since I work on a Droid platform it won't work for me.

I wish them luck. It's a great idea - depending on how well it works. Apple and Android are very close in sales since there are so many companies using the Droid OS. If the Apple version does well, they'll probably make a version for the Droid. It should be mostly a matter of coding, rather than all new hardware.

Interesting. I would have to get the Weston phone cover for it: http://www.etsy.com/listing/109373107/iphone-4-case-vintage-light-meter-iphone?ref=market

There are lightmeter apps available, but I think they are all the reflected type, but no spotmetering. For people doing b\w film photography, spotmeters will always be needed. Unless a scene has very flat contrast, incident meters tend to underexpose for b/w.

There a quite a few light meter apps already for the iPhone. Some are quite good.

I e-mailed them about Android support and their answer was very coy. Here it is.

Hey,

At the moment Lumu works just on iOS 5.0+ devices. Can't say anything more. But please stay tuned. I think you are going to be satisfied with our update in a week or two. ;)

Spread Lumulove,
Lumuteam

Anybody want three guesses (and the first two don't count)?
