Jan, great capture. I'm sure you were thrilled. We had a Barred Owl in our backyard yesterday. It was the first time we've seen one in the wild. I wish I would've had my camera with me.

Keep up the great work and enjoy your new camera.

There certainly was an abundance of birds in the SNP and the Chestnut-sided Warbler is a first for me...so I was certainly excited about getting a chance to photograph it! I was using my Canon 7D and 300 prime lens for these shots...settings were constantly changing due to the light.

Nothing short of brilliant, lovely shots and such a good looking bird. Well done.

Great photos as always. Intriguing markings and the black horizontal V on his face makes it look speedy sharp. Inspired me to check just how many Warblers you have in your country. Looks like the New World has about 116 according to this site:

Just wondering how many you have managed to photograph so far? :)

Great pictures. I don't understand some people's aversion to bird images (your warning). I enjoy taking them and seeing them on this site. Let's keep it up. Maybe the administrators could have a separate section just for birds so the dissenters could simply ignore it.
