A model from Birmingham [England] in a very old Welsh cottage, playing with face paints. Entirely her idea.
Available light with a little assistance from a remotely mounted speedlight.
Window light only
From the outside looking in - in the rain !
Then I decided to 'play' in Photoshop
Even I got scared editing this one.

Nice set, the last one is my favourite
Good lighting I think the last two are my favorites I think the neutral colours of the face paint suit the style and location bettrer IMHO

There was wall to wall cloud so the daylight was pretty much shadowless outside. In side for some shots I had a speedlight bouncing off a small reflector along side the only window.
The location was chosen as least likely to generate complaints from spilled paint ! The model finally couldn't afford the high volume stuff so brought a load of small tubes.
Absolutely not my idea for the shoot but a willing model is a willing model. Thee are not too many of those where I live.
I had fun in Photoshop with some of the results though.
They are all good photos, but the only one that holds my interest is #4 (next to last one). The paint in the others IMHO just detracts from an otherwise good photo. I do agree though, that a model is a model. You are luckier than me in that you get to work with an adult, my models are (2) 8 year olds going on 30.

I have to agree about the paint although the follow up in the afternoon was a whole new ball game.
fascinating. the last 2 are my favs for the same reason CajonPhotog mentioned. Tho' bright & bold is usually intriguing & fun, the setting seems to be more conducive to the muted tones. Creative & imaginative.
I'm inclined to agree re the bright and bold
From the afternoon session with the same model
#2 in the woodland
#3 in the woodland
#3a. I ccould not resist trying this after seeing a You Tube video
#4, back to B&W and a little Photoshop
3 and 4 for me but they are all good
Thank you gents. With luck this young lady will be visiting me again soon.
This set is perfect with color, I think because its in the green woodlands and She looks like a woodland nymph. I love what you did in 3a. Just more mystical and ethereal. And #4, the way the light from the left shines on her... theatrical and perfect and love the B&W as makes it seem like she's in a cavern or cave.
I like your stuff!
