The next time someone says "most wars are fought in the name of religion...."

You've heard this old chestnut being tossed out as if it actually has any bearing on the truth, or falsity of the Christian worldview...(it doesn't...that's faulty logic) but in any event....did you know that it's completely wrong?
In fact, religion is a very small part of the basis for the wars that have been fought throughout history.
According to the Encyclopedia of Wars:
Of 1,763 major conflicts in recorded history, only 123 were fought over religious differences.
So...the next time someone tosses this out...do two things:
1.) Explain to them that people do bad things and the fact that people of all stripes do bad things has no bearing on the truth or falsity of the claims of any religion.
2.) They are wrong and need to quit using that statistic if they are going to be honest in their conversations with Christians from now on.
