Looks real good Jim, don't see any reason why they wouldn't find them acceptable. Like they way you somewhat framed them.

Nice photos, Jim. I have one concern. In viewing them on my iPad, the seem to be a bit under-exposed. As I am sure that is not the case, I am wondering if it is the iPad or just these tired old eyes. I am really looking forward to your images of the locomotive and caboose.

We shot the Caboose yesterday. I'll post the photos. The way it is displayed, it was very difficult to get an angle to eliminate the present day items and make the caboose look like it was on a working rail track.

Thought they were a little flat. Added maybe a little too much contrast in levels for this pic. great project to undertake.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind for the next phase.
The big challange is trying to eliminate all the modern stuff and the museum signs.

Thought you might like to know that Caboose SCL 1173 is rostered as 01173 and was originally SBD 21173 and was probably acquired between 12/29/1982 and the merger with CSX 07/01/1986. I can find no prior history for 21173.

I have mentioned this before, but, if you are looking for history on a steam locomotive, it is important to get a clear head-on picture of the boiler plate. It should be on the side of the boiler near the front of the locomotive. If it is difficult to photograph, try to write down the information. If it is a Baldwin, it will have a round plate with the Baldwin, the foundry, the unit number (different from the line number) and the year completed. If it is a Norris, there will little information. Lima plates are usually diamond-shaped and vary in content.

Mogul, just out of curiosity, on the Lima plate is that refering to Lima, Ohio as place of construction? I know I could Google it but find it easier to Mogul it!
