Photomicrography

Hello to all!
Long ago I've been thinking about photomicrography.
I found an old microscope, and one set-up attachment composed Nikon teleconverter TC 16A (I've modified for my DSLR), one Nikkor 135mm f 2.8, and one microscope adapter -Nikon EM 1.
I have only seen microscope adapters only with extension tubes!
Does anyone know this Set-Up?

One experience with a leg fly at 40x, ...but the lighting was bad!

I used something like this back in the 80s with my Minolta 101 and a dissecting scope. It worked well.
