Canon 7D, Canon 100mm f/2.8L Macro, 430EXII Speedlite, DIY softbox diffuser, handheld, manual settings on camera and flash, flash at 1/4 + 0.3 power. Not perfect... but getting a little better. Experimenting with different flash settings. Another picture I took at 1/4 power was better (right on Douglass) but I was more out of focus on that one so posted this instead.

Fun to watch. He was carrying it forward, slow and determined, not dragging it backwards.

Thanks Hangman. Another great capture there. I do think I've seen a couple of those flying around... tiny/skinny and those funny looking little wings way out to the side. Kind of looks like he has his gas mask on. :)

Thanks tinusbum! But not quite. Still working toward capturing the eyes. Nice to work toward a goal that is so much fun to work at...

I think you did a good job of getting the eyes on a small target

Great capture for both you and the ant. The ant has a right to be a little swell headed with that meal.

Thanks again Hangman. I guess I just have that "I want to be like you when I grow up" syndrome. Applies to Tinusbum, fstop22, Blurryeyed, Richard76, Nikonian72, etc. etc. You guys really know how to set the bar high, and I like it.

Excellent detail! I would be proud to have captured this image.

Possible cicada exoskeleton?

Thanks Douglass.
What happened to my post-processed picture that I originally posted as image #2?
Did you tweak the original some more. If so, what did you do? It looks really good but I want to compare it to my posting.
