Thanks for the reminder that there are people affected by these fires... From a distance, only hearing a bit of news each day, its hard to imagine the true scope and effects of wild fires like these.

It's truly very hard, especially when you know people out there who are good friends and you can't get there to help with the evacuations, or help with anything for that matter. The only thing we have is prayer.
Thanks

As of 9 AM, in Black Forest, 360 homes have been destroyed - another 79 haven't been classified because authorities haven't been able to get to the properties.
15,000 acres already burned, 0 containment, 35,000 have been foced to evacuate...and this is only the 3rd day.
We're 10 miles away; watching the plumes. Winds this afternoon are expected to top 30 mph. This fire was unexpected, but is already the deadliest in Colorado history.
Thank you, and the hogs, for the prayers and concern!

Good luck to you! Your report is certainly troubling... hope containment, at least, happens soon.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those in one of my favorite places in the world.
My Prayers going up HEART for you and your state.
Just read in morning paper two people have died in the fire. Said it looked like they were trying to pack and leave because the car doors were ajar in the garage. I can't imagine just how fast something like that can over take a person. I just don't get it. And how sometimes possessions are more important than safety.
Our son-in-law James is a Wildland Firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service. He left Wednesday for the Big Meadow fire, but his crew has been re-directed to the Black Forest fire.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in that community and also with all the firefighters on the line & in the air.
Our daughter Michelle is pregnant and just sent James a text message telling him the results of a doctors visit, they are having a son, or should I say a grandson.
To all, be safe!
