Taken with a Sigma 8mm f3.5 fisheye on my way to work last week.

Those are pretty cool.
Are you using that lens on a full frame body which gives you the floating circle?

No using it on a APS-C Nikon d7000 which I believe is a 1.6x crop. To get a full circular fisheye I would need to use the Sigma 4.5mm fisheye.

OK that's interesting. I have the Rokinon 8mm fisheye and I get a regular edge to edge image when using it on a Canon 7D which is a 1.6 crop.
If I used it on a 5D FF I would get the floating circle.

On my Nikon d7000 if I use either the 10mm or 15mm Sigma fisheyes they would be edge to edge. If I use the 4.5mm Sigma fisheye it would be a floating circle image. I also have a 11-16 Tokina (none fisheye) ultrawide which kind of gives the wideness of the 10mm fish or the 15mm fish without the edge distortion.
