Another week has rolled around and time to post your best shot(s) particularly ones from this past week. Challenges since last Tuesday were "shadows" and "glass" - do you have more goodies you didn't post? Your post doesn't have to be challenge related. It's been a while, but I am thinking SIGNS are still wildcards if you have nothing you want to post.

I spent Sunday late afternoon early evening down on the waterfront again. Two schooners (I am not sure of correct nautical term) passed by with passengers enjoying a "sunset" cruise of the harbor. There is also an old stone mansion on the property of one park and it reminded me of something.

Under sail. An old army fort to the left, Fort Gorges

Where Poets Feel At home..

Here let me introduce you to Charlevoix, County, Québec, known by we who inhabit Québec and although we find it special, the tourists, the few who make it past Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré where miracles seem to take place upon asking, those people are not really exploring tourists they are what I call, Route 138 tourists which means what it says…they are glued on that road and miss so much. For tourists, the 138 means a stop at Montmorency Falls, just a few miles east of Québec City, then off for a miracle at Sainte Anne’s, the one blessed they’re off for the Casino in Pointe-au-Pic and then to finalize their stay, a whale watch out of Saint-Siméon, Baie-Sainte-Catherine or for the braver, taking the ferry across the Saguenay River estuary to Tadoussac.

Photographers, writers, poets and artists will find a nesting place here for, besides that mill town named Clermont, I have never seen an ugly place in that whole county. Seriously and I’ve done through and through time and again. This is sadly a short story because I could take you on a very nice trip for many pages here and through four seasons also.

It is mountainous through out the entire county and they drop square into the estuary of the St. Lawrence River, and it borders on the east side, the Saguenay River, which is a fjord, just to give you an idea. There are roads leaning at up to 22% and it is a no big deal there whilst tourists are scratching their heads on how to handle them. You can be sitting on a pier under sunlight and then drive a half mile up the road and be in mountain fog that shuts everything down. It happened to me yesterday in a village called Port-au-Persil.

Nice day down by the pier

Then up the hill.....(I included the wires as that is the way it is)

And a half mile later,,,,here it is. Told you that Charlevoix is hilly

Great start Pat and even though this is doesn't seem like a hosting job now it appears that that is just what most are doing.
Love the schooner in all its poses. But the raven in the dark window (or door) is my favorite.
