GeneM Loc: Upstate PA

Someone asked if I had any Iris pictures. At the time, I didn't because a late frost/freeze destroyed all that had begun to bloom.

I shot these in a neighbor's yard. He found them growing in a corner of his yard, in the shade beside the wood pile, and called me to come take some pics. I used my black foamboard as a background because there wasn't anything interesting to fit the situation, and shot them at various angles.

Enjoy these. Exif intact. Cropped and PP w/PSE8. Comments welcome.

I think I like the last one best. That particular iris coloring is my favorite; I believe it is one of the oldest from before the special breeding to make the bigger and different colored.

Thanks for the pick, DragonsLady. This old form is quite abundant around the old homsteads where I live. I guess it was quite popular amongst the early 20th century immigrants. I remember grandma had many of these growing in our yard when I was a tyke. Thanks for looking.
