I have a 5N, with 18-55 mm lens, and the pancake wide angle from Sony. First, I don't see much difference when using the WAL comared to the 18-55 lens. Is there a Wide Angle setting I am missing? I looked through the manual, don't see anything.
Second, I would love recommendations as to what to add to my kit. the accessories are limited, but could anyone suggest the best things to add? filters, booster flash attachments come to mind. A better WAL? Maybe- spent a lot on the one I have.
I use this camera mainly for shooting the interiors / exteriors of houses, plus sailing pics.
thank you All!

You might consider an E mount to whatever other brand of lens adapter. For instance. I have and E to A adapter and can use my Alpha A mount lenses on my NEX (albeit in manual exposure and focus). You can put just about any lens made on your NEX with the appropriate adapter. There are some very good lenses available for very little cost. Adapters run anywhere from $10 to $150. The 16mm is very little difference from 18mm.
Thanks, Rob. I sold off all my other lenses- thought the adapter too bulky and $$$. Prob. a mistake as I sold my sigma wide angle, which produced amazing pictures..
There is not a lot of difference between 18 and 16mm. I would urge you to use the sweep panorama function of the camera if you have not already done so. I like to use a tripod to do this - but you do not absolutely have to . I would use a 20mm setting on your lens and turn the camera to the vertical portrait position and sweep .....You will astounded ! This works a little better if you use a lens where you can manually lock the aperture and focus distance rather than allowing the AF and AE of the camera to operate. Any good 20-24mm lens will work with adapters for this. I like to use an optical viewfinder for this but you can also use the LCD.

A pretty good suggestion. You can of course set the aperture and focus of the NEX manually. The 16mm should work just fine this way.

The 16 will work, but may have more distortion and include more foreground than wanted.....

true enough, but he may need it for indoors work. He shoots interiors as well as landscape.
Imagemeister and Rob, you guys are awesome. Tried Image's advice, created a great wide angle effect on first try. Copied and pasted your comments to my monitor on PC. Thanks so much.
