Nice series.
Avocet: Crop so that the bird has room to fly into in front of it and, in this case, below it since it seems to be dropping down. I would give a slight increase to the exposure in the shadows and increase the vibrance jsut a tad.
Snowy Egret: Lots of motion blur here. What shutter speed were you using? Image stabilization does not correct for subject motion.
Gull: Decent shot on a gray day. It is really hard when the light is not cooperating. Despite the overcast, there is often a directionallity to the light. It can help if you put the sun (or where it should be) behind you so you don't get quite the back lit effect.
Turkey Vulture: Not much to commend on this picture except that you got sharp focus and it was good practice for BIF's.
Keep working and having fun!
Appreciate the feedback, thanks!
Re-cropped the avocet. Not sure its much better. There isnt a lot of room to crop in the back. I managed to fill the frame with that one pretty well, even at my 250 mm limit. As for PP, I really dont do any at this point in my photography journey. I only have Picasa, and I shoot JPEG. Im sure with time Ill grow, and start shooting raw and learning about PP. Right now, it's more time than desire that's holding me back. Alas, I still have to work full time...
Egret shot at 1/400. Clearly not fast enough.

I think your Turkey vulture image is great. I find that they are one of the hardest birds to capture. Most of mine are silhouettes. BIF photos are very challenging. I practice as often as possible.
