Just purchased a Nikon D 3200 to replace a sick D 80. If anyone has one, how do you like it and why. Reviews looked good on paper.
I have had mine for 6 months and really like it, this is my first Nikon, have had Canon in past. I am not a professional just avid advanced novice. The 3200 has a wide range of presets and yet gives me the ability to control the settings if I choose. Easy to get the hang of the controls and everything is right there with a ton of on camera help and assists
I never had one but you already purchased it, so enjoy it. You will always find people who will have negative comments about any piece of gear.
Get a good lens and have fun.
Read the manual or get a book that explains the features and how to use them. After getting my d90'i took a 4 week online course about the D 90 it was the best thing I ever did. Information I learned there has carried over into my D 7000 and my D 600. It also helped me out when I rented a D4 and D800.
Enjoy
Thanks for the input. Nice to know there are others who have multiple cameras. When I am gone the heirs and assigns can fight over the supply.
You've got a really good camera for the price. It's probibly the beat deal going. You can't beat the 24 mega pixels for a entry level DSLR!
I bought the D3200 week and a half ago and having great fun with it. I bought the kit, two lenses, 18-55 and the 55-300mm the latter never seems to come off the camera. I also purchased for my iPad the Dummies book on the 3200 and find it very helpful. I was attracted to the camera initially because of its small size and weight, I'm through with lugging heavy gear around, I want to enjoy my photography and this camera is helping me to do that. Only have one niggle, I find it hard, even impossible, to read the display in the viewfinder, so I have to check the monitor for my shutter speed and f-stop, which I find a little bit inconvenient :-)
