We students had to learn all the4 verses to the National Anthem back in 7th grade (1959) and I have never forgotten that verse...it says it all.

What most people do not realize is that the words were originally a poem and as such, the conclusion is always in the last verse. So what we are singing is the beginning, rather than the conclusion which is where the power is.

I think we should change to singing the last verse, don't you?
