I can't figure this bird out. It could be a blue heron, white morph, except for the tuft on its head. Could you bird experts give me an i.d.? This was taken at Aransas Bay this March.

It's just a disheveled Great Blue Heron ! They say the black plumes on head are more pronounced during mating season!

I have a shot of another blue heron (I posted it in another thread tonight also) and it was quite a bit more blue and did not have the head tuft. I guess that's what had me confused, but I think you're right.
Yup...GBH....looks like you have a couple of them in this shot...and a Snowy just off to the left looks like.
Sometimes it's funny what you find in your photo when look at it. I had one where something I didn't know was there turned out to be the subject of my crop.
