Greetings and Salutations. My name is Mike and I am a novice amatuer from Arizona. I currently have a Canon Rebel XS and have attempted to learn something new. I am addicted to photography and I have issues I think lol...I've had my camera for a year or so and while I cant do what you guys do I sure make up for it in desire. I want to learn and someday be at least decent. I've seen some amazing photos here and I am ready for newbie abuse and ridicule...I think lol

if you are prpared to be ridiculed you are going to ne disapointed  Your black and whites are excellant with interesting subject manner. i even liked the fish eye of the grand canyon tough I am normaly not a fish eye fan. you have an eye for composition. post more especialy any more ghost town shots
Wow thank you Sinatraman I sure didn't expect that response :D Yes I have many more of the Ghost Town and ruins etc....I am a huge history buff. I bought a book on Ansel Adams a few years ago and well....My love for Black and Whites is evident lol...That is what I typically shoot and while my wife isn't the biggest fan of no color I am. I am self taught of course because no photographer I know cares to help me except for one guy in Minnesota named Larry Ricker I dunno he may be on here for all I know.
I understand the fact some people make a living at this and I certainly don't wish to take the food off the table for anyone....I just love taking pictures is all. I will post a couple more from Jerome gimme a few...

black and white is great for mood shots. pople urban enviornment, old cars, old buildings etc. I don''t know why but animals dont look good in b+w but people do. normaly I am not a fan of b+w landscapes as the color adds to the majesty but your shot of the rocks works. certain other subjects look better in color, air and car shows, portraits etc
I have a lot of Grand Canyon color shots and a ton of B & W as well...Hmmmm if people like the stuff I will keep posting them I have just about everything lol....I have a sickness...

I too would echo what has been written in regard to the black & whites - nice tonal range, great subjects.

Your pictures are very well done - and don't worry about "(taking) food off the table" for anyone - that's like trying to preserve farmland by not eating vegetables. (to get uncomfortably close to a mixed metaphor.. :)
