I'm playing with my 35 and this peonie was my target. what could I have done differently?

Did you use Flash? If yes avoid it,next time, and use available light,more pleasant final picture,more texture,use tripod and slow speed,make sure you have ALL of the flower in frame,there is more but this is a major, i like the take, position and feel for the flower.

There was no flash. I had to use a little faster shutter speed then I would have liked because it was a little breezy. But thanks for the critique. I appreciate the suggestions very much.

The problem that I have had has been because of the wind blowing the flowers this time of year. I also agree that they don't last long enough. They always look good on the dining room table.

My grandmother always had a long row of peonies -- I like them a lot. It was a shock to move to a different state to discover what I had always pronounced as PEE-oh-nees became pee-OH-nees! ... still not used to that!
