We have come to a new challenge, and as fate would have it I get to start you off on a new adventure. Glass can be a photographer's nightmare and yet when done well give a sense of real accomplishment. This is going to be another lesson in seeing, or as Sherlock Holmes would say “in the power of observation”. Keep in mind that glass reflects everything, however in this challenge it should only reflect what enhances the picture. Look closely at the item and insure only the reflections that you see are the ones you intended to be there. There are several good videos on YouTube about this subject. Here is one link that shows you how to do it without expensive equipment and what to look for during setup. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlQwt7_ZXKg
As always have fun and keep in mind I will be watching. Here are a few to get you started.

These were used on sailing vessels way back and they would indicate weather, present and incoming. The water rises as the pressure lowers. For example, the faster it rises, the harder the storm and also it would be brief, a squall or whatever. The longer it takes to rise, the longer the bad weather will be around. Frequently in the summer it will even over flow with the advent of a T-Storm. In the winter it is slower to rise but will indicate bad weather for awhile. It is as accurate as it can get, never misses.

Bought ours through Yankee Magazine ... bought several and used them for gifts at Christmas.

Thanx Markar. It was unbelievable. I was down by the river to do a sunset shot and all was grey and pale yellow, nothing exciting so I came home. Within minutes, literally the entire sky was red! I set up my tripod in the field out back and the reds were so dense that they looked naturally PP'd.

I believe it is for barometric pressure it indicates the weather. Nice shots by the way RR.

A various look at local glass in our home. #2 has a great history and to give you a hint, inlanders have no idea but itis not their fault, these were not used there

Well done Pat. I think your glasses need cleaning though.

Sher there are two lights One is coming up from the bottom and catching the frosted class that creates the inside and engine of the car and the other is coming in form the back side focused on the clear or outer shell of the piece. These were photographed on 4x5 transparency sheet film with no retouching or post processing.

Love the B&W Pat. In presenting the image this way you give me the feeling of desperation, the last hope is gone. Well presented image.

I hope I am not double posting because I did comment on your's E Mang however it did not show up. Your pictures are nice, however the cracked class of the candle holder is my favorite image. One thing I see a spot of light on the right of the holder that is detracting and draws the eye away from the main image. Still a well done.
