This is the old Mill at Lebanon Tennessee. It is a repurposed building converted from an old Wool Mill to a shopping facility containing restaurants, shops, office spaces, museums and more.

The look suits the subject nicely. It's also encouraging when you find re-purposed lost-industry buildings. Lots of 'em in New England.

Yea I know...but seems like I've also seen a lot of old buildings that get abandoned because a new facility was built and no one moved into the old one. There is a huge RCA factory not far from me that sits and decays with each day. They used to make TV's there. I get so sad everytime I drive by. Surely there could be something it could be used for. Instead of building a whole new facility...why not use an existing facility like they did with the old Wool Mill. Let me check my archives and I'll post it here...it such a sad site.

Closed...moved to China. RCA factory, Sitting idle for at least 15 years now...

I agree with you that it's unfortunate when buildings are left to decay. Must be cheaper to build new and we American consumers are all about the purchase price of the end product...

Another "I agree" from me and my daughter. We have a hospital here in town that my 13 year old daughter complains about it being abandoned every time we drive by. I wonder if it's because she was born in that hospital... And so was I 40 years before her. ;)

Yea, I agree dusty...but I've found when I post images to this site, they get a tad darker. I used to make brighter copies when I post here, but got lazy and quit.
Thanks for Looking...

If you haven't thought about it already, might want to contact the PR person in the mall's office...they may have a use for your photo, like say, in a brochure or other advertisement. Great work.

That's great news. Yeah...I feel pretty psycho today. ;-) I was security manager at a mall in a former life, so just thought I would pass along a tip to you.

Great shot James, I love it when they preserve old buildings like this...maybe new on the inside, but all is not lost...
If you saw my Shot Tower pics, that's what they did there only in reverse, built a new building around the old one...
Great they are going to use your pic also...it's a feather in your cap. We went on a cruise last year and they now use my pics in their adds and brochures...I'm still waiting for my free cruise though...
Ron.

Quite often they are not reused as industrial manufacturing because technology has passed them by. Modern plants are much higher ceilinged and have fewer columns supporting roofs for example making for easier machine run layouts. Modern trend is to build new rather than re-us
