Thank You all.... the local Native American Indian's support our troops and veterans completely and honor them at every Pow Wow they hold... its a very emotional ceremony when they invite the veterans into the sacred circle to be honored. The energy of the Dancers and the Drum is contagious.

My late son was very much into his admiration and study of Native Americans, he would have loved these and the beautiful colours, in fact, he had his own tipi made for himself and I now have a number of personal NA items, including a head dress :)

At the Maine Wildlife Park this year's Pow Wow is slated for August 10 & 11. The dance circle will be set up under the pines and, as you mentioned, the veterans will be honored and invited into the circle. Certain parts of the ritual are not photo ops -- considered religious in nature. Frustrating to a shutter-bug but the decent thing to do is comply with their request.
