40 year old portrait

40 years ago I took a set of portraits of a young lady and her son. Taken on a Exacta Varex 35mm camera with a 500 watt photoflood light. The negatives were long lost but the original customer discovered it in their attic and sent it to me. Film was not so bad. I loved the effect. Wish somehow over the years I could have got better, Thats why I have quit taking photographs!

It's lovely. The mother looks like she stepped out of the 1920's or 30's. I like the black & white photos. There's a special quality to film, isn't there?

Thanks for the comment. I was impressed that the print had survived so long and been scanned and still is acceptable.Once again thanks. The mom is still a good looker !

Very nice and the B/W takes a bit of beating

I took a snap of three children on a bridge in Basle with their mum'spermission the camera cost roughly 5/- in Woolworths in Watford Hertfordnshir UK that was1956 that little photo is still good and is b/w

Makes one think doesn't it

Don't quit! I only got into this 13 months ago, and have driven over 14,000 miles, and taken thousands of photographs of which I only like about 12 to 20 of them.
The ones I do like made all the travel and time spent on sites like this learning more about it a lot of fun!
This site has everyone from just starting, to professionals who are great people willing to share their knowledge, and opinions so more can enjoy the art of photography.
The more I learn, like the blind squirrel the more acorns I find!
It's the journey that matters, not the destination

Thanks Brender and Ron. I have been making photoprints for 63 tears or so and I guess am to old and haggard to make the effort any more. I see so much quality work and could never get to the standards I want anymore haha,
