A new friend I met through this site just sent me the following message, in regards to people downloading & modifying his photos:

'Sorry, I will not be returning. The admin for this site has told me there is nothing that can be done to protect us from this.'

Very sad for us. This is not the first time....

If I can learn something from someone who wants to download and modify my photos .... GREAT, have at it!
If you upload them as a 600x800 jpg at 72 dpi, that's all they are good for, you can't make a print.

The problem is they just do it! No, explanation of what they did to "in their mind" improve it. I want to learn about the improvements not just see it. I personally will take criticism and try to learn from it but how can any of us if all we get is ... " Here, I fixed it. It's better." What have I, or anyone learned? I saw a forum the other day and was wowed by it. The author posted a picture and asked for critique. Someone offered a suggestion for improvement, giving detail as to how to change it. The author read the info said something like, I'll be right back. Reposted with the suggested improvements. It was a better picture and everyone learned.

I think banning offenders will be a pretty effective deterrent.

I only post edited photos if someone asks for help with editing, but then I also posted why I made the corrects and how I got them. What's the point of doing an edit to show what you think would make it "better" if you don't tell the OP how you did it?

In case you have not noticed the Admin has made a new rule on editing pics. See forum.

Good to know, now if we could get a forum just for C&C.
