I have been using Google Chrome as my browser of choice for a couple of years now. I like it because it stores my favorites away from my computer, so when I have to replace my hard drive I don't have to restore my favs. I was burned before on this before when I was using Firefox. Even though FF has a back up/restore utility, I had problems getting it to work all the time and lost data. For the same reason I use Gmail as my preferred email provider instead of Thunderbird because my mail is not stored on my computer.
I mention Internet Explorer because I've heard that the latest version is super fast, secure and reliable. Does anyone know how your My Favorites are stored in Internet Explorer? In the event of a system restore, how do you get them back? Hoping for some good discussion here.
IE stores its Favorites under your User Directory as shown here in Windows 7 C:\Users\Steve\Favorites
Unless you back it up it would be lost if catastrophe struck
How to import and export the Internet Explorer Favorites

If you will look on your "C" drive there is a file labeld IE favorites, if your backing up your computer as you should be that file is backed up as well. After restart, re-install your browser and the favorites will be there.
