Sorry but that is just darn crazy to be that close to a snake of that kind. Great shots I must say.
Always remember... with wildlife it's best to shoot at eye level and with some a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong lens. LOL

I don't think they have made a 10 ft., 1,000 mm lens yet so I will just look at the pictures.
Great shots! Beautiful in a scary kind of way. Thanks for posting.

Back in the 60's we would see a lot of these snakes, I was bit by a cottonmouth when I was 16 and spent a week in the hospital so I do have a lot of respect for what they can do. Out where we would see many of these snakes we now see very few, I know a lot of people say that's a good thing but I don't agree, they are part of the ecosystem and have their place. The guy that was with me when we found this one was trying all he could to get me to run it over with the truck and was shocked that all I wanted to do is move it off the road. He kept telling me how mean it was but I had pushed it all the way across the road and had to hit it with the foam 5 or 6 more times before it struck at the foam. All it was trying to do is escape. I told him to pay attention and tell me what the snake was trying to do other than live, he could not come up with a argument after that
