All In The Family

The US has entered into a contract with a real estate firm to sell 56 buildings that currently house U.S. Post Offices. The government has decided it no longer needs these buildings, many of which are located on prime land in towns and cities across the country.

The sale of these properties will fetch billions of dollars and a handsome 6% commission to the company handling the sales. That company belongs to a man named Richard Blum. Who is Richard Blum you ask?

Why the husband of Senator Dianne Feinstein, that's who. What a bunch of crooks we have running this country!

Senator Feinstein and her husband, Richard Blum, stand to make a fortune. His firm, C.R. I., is the sole real estate company offering these properties for sale. Of course, C.R.I. will be making a 6% commission on the sale of each and every one of these postal properties.

All of these properties that are being sold are all fully paid for. They were purchased with U.S. taxpayers dollars, and they are allowed free and clear by the U.S.P.S. The only cost to keep them is the cost to actually keep the doors open and the heat and lights on. The United States Postal Service doesn't even have to pay property taxes on these subject properties. Would you sell your house just because you couldn't afford to pay the electric bill?

Well, the Post Office is.

How does a powerful U.S. Senator from San Francisco manage to get away with such a sweet deal?

A powerful United States Senator's husband is standing by, all ready to make millions from a U.S. taxpayer funded enterprise.

No one in the mainstream media is even raising an eyebrow over his 6% commission on the sale of hundreds of millions of dollar's worth of quasi-public assets.

Pass this info on before it's pulled from the internet.

Sen. Feinstein is just following in the steps of the founding fathers. It all began with George Washington who, when the Continental Congress offered him a salary for leading the army, replied that he felt it us unpatriotic to take money for the job and all they needed to do was to cover his expenses (the first charge account). He went hog wild with the M-Card they gave him but they learned their lesson...so when he was elected president, he tried the same thing, getting congress to give him a expense account (unlimited...just his expenses, of course). Congress told him, "George, take the paycheck or go away. There will be no expense account this time!"

I think all in congress since then have taken lessons from George on how to handle an expense account. I really believe they all cheat every chance they get and that is both parties.

The biggest problem here, is we already have a government agency that is supposed to handle the sale of these properties, no commission.

I think the biggest problem is that if it's a Republican doing it you get half the country defending them and if it's a Democrat the other half defend them. If the offender is in your (not you personally) party you'll (again not you personally) will defend them no matter what they do.

Yup, that is why they keep getting re-elected. Oh, he/she is a xxxxxxxx, so I will vote for them, no matter what.

People should look at voting records before they pledge their undying support to a person, regardless of party.

Sarge, that would require they become informed, that would require some effort and those in control will make it easy by telling you why you should vote the way they want you to. They can give you a good reason even if it means doing yourself in. They always tell you what or who to be afraid of. What it will cost you, even if applying a modicum of intelligence would disprove their BS. As long as the majority remains lazy they will be manipulated by political advertising. But, I might be wrong and I know someone will correct my thinking.

The US Postal Service is not a federal Govt. agency so there would be no expectation that the GSA (I assume that's who you are referring to) would handle the sale. But your point raises an interesting question as to if the GSA bid on the proposal to sell these properties off?? Hmmm....

Correct, and in my mind, the biggest problem of all is the party system. Every one of those SOB's in DC should be independents.

I make it a habit of doing this before a congressional or senate election...it takes about 2 minutes....in most situations you will be disappointed by both canidates.
