I've noted several of you talking about making a copyright "brush." I got the directions but can't seem to follow them.
1. Get copyright symbol from custom shape tool. (did that)
2. Put info into same layer. (did that)
3. Drag rectangle marquee around it. (did that)
4. Choose "Define brush" and name it. (Where do I find "define brush?" I found something under "Define bush preset" and named it.
5. Open a photo and choose brush pallette, choose copyright brush. (Where is the brush pallette? I found "Preset Manager" and selected the copyright I had just defined.)
6. Create a new layer on the photograph and click where you want the copyright. (I did the new layer, but no amount of clicking put the copyright there.)
So somewhere between creating the copyright and putting it onto a new photo I'm missing something. I tried dragging the copyright. Didn't work. No amount of clicking, either left or right, will do anything. Also, I want to be able to do the copyright in white sometimes. Using this method I can put the info in white, but how do I get the copyright symbol to be white?
Thanks!
Frankly it can be confusing as the dickens! What you want to create is a new "Custom Shape". It can be a real pain in the tail to get it right, but you can add a "Custom Shape" instead of trying to add a "Custom Brush" and end up with a one click insert of your Copy Right.
Im assuming you have opened a new file with a white background and placed the item you would like to be your brush. So I will move on from there.
In the Edit drop down menu, find Define Brush Preset a pop up window will open, this is where you name your new brush. Click OK when done.
Now to use your new brush, open the Brush Preset Picker (typically after you have selected the brush tool the preset picker will be in the upper left corner, its the drop down box that lets you pick your brush). Scroll thru the brush types until you find your new brush. It should be the last brush. Now you can just stamp it where you want on your image.

Annie, this seems to be the part I cannot do. It doesn't appear. I did sort of accidentally find a brushes thing that dropped down, but I can't select anything on it or scroll through it. It's as though it's not activated and nothing I do will allow me to select anything there. Do you know why that might be?
Thanks, Mogul. I'll try following those steps.
