I think this is just a Wow!
I love everything about it: sharp as a pin, purity and clarity of colour, and the lighting is spot on.
Thank you for sharing with us.

Thanks a lot, Robbie

Contre-jour is a new one on me and seems right - I did use natural backlighting on this one!

Enjoy your day ( and let's see your shot!!)

Hi James :) I like to use phrases like this from time to time, it levels the playing field with those who who know more about kit than me..lol I cant take a shot of my Dicentra today as yet again it is pouring with rain here in jolly old England.. :)

Don't you love the British weather, Robbie!!

Chucking it down here in Kent, too, right now, but caught this shot in a last week during a gap between the showers :D

It's so frustrating, in between gardening, I have been trying to find some time to take a few photos, but it just keeps on raining. Never mind there will be gaps I suppose. Some of the photos coming into the group are really raising the bar and a quick snap shot wont do anymore so the demands on time are ever pressing. :)

I rarely get excited about flower pics unless they are something special, and this is something special. Tac sharp and beautifully lit. I lived in the UK for a few year before returning home to Australia and I used to grow these in my UK garden. So not only a fantastic pic but some nice memories. Thank you.

Absolutely cracking image, The colour of the background and blur really make the main subject pop.

Much appreciated, Peter, they are a lovely plant and an early bloomer as a bonus!

I am off to Australia (Queensland) for 3 weeks in August, and am so excited - it has been 11 years since I was last there and it will be my first time in the North East
