Searching for a zoom

Years ago I purchased a Canon T1i with a regular and telephoto kit lens. I upgraded to Sigma 17-70 to replace my short kit lens. This lens is great, cost around $400 and takes very sharp photos. Now I want to replace the kit 55-250 with a lens of similar quality to my Sigma either 250 or 300 zoom. It seems that Sigma makes a low end zoom and a very high end lens with nothing in the middle. Any suggestions?

Try the Canon 70-300mm IS...refurbished it's cheaper than your Sigma 17 -70 mm lens...I love mine

Here's a link on this forum that gives you some of my examples and others....it also gives you a link to where to buy a refurbished lens:

Canon 28-300mm F3.5-5.6 IS appears to cover nearly the entirety of the focal range you had covered with two other lenses. It is expensive, but the best lens for a wide array of different kinds of photography. Sigma makes a comparable lens albeit at far lower cost and quality.
