All,

Saw this scene yesterday and went back and shot it this morning. Looking for very honest hard hitting criticism and everyone's opinion as to whether it's more effective in color or B&W.

Let me have it.

B&W Version

Pale,

Thanks. That's kind of where I was. It looked a lot better in person, but something is missing.

The B&W is better, but still no subject. Would like to see what it would of looked like if you had knelt down or laid down

I knelt down as far as I could without loosing hte bottoms of the twin trees at the end of the path....any lower and they get cut off by the path.

Thanks for the comments.

Come on....there has to be more opinions out there...It a nice picture but not a good/great photo. Rule of Thirds has been used, Path leads you into the picture.....But where....to what...how do I bring a payoff to this image.

I disagree the subject is the journey to infinity at the end of the road. It is a thought picture.
Maybe color adjust #2 a little and adjus the contrast on #I.

I'm a nature girl at heart and I very much like your color photo. There's peace, serenity and warmth in the shot and if I was there, I'd have sat right down in the sun and enjoyed my surroundings....after taking a photo, of course.

hey there high there ho ho ho there, who said it was a bore?
not so as the subject was well framed and at the moment the
thing to do, so what is a photo but a moment of your time
on planet Earth and a moment of time nobody knows but ye.

I think there is an opportunity for a picture here. Rather than stand right in the middle of the road and shoot straight down it, try moving over the side by the fence line and try to find a fence post with some character, and put it along one side of the frame.

Something like this, although my shot is not that great. My photo is of an empty field where my Great-Great Grandfather homesteaded in Oregon. I wanted a picture of the land, and just put the fencepost in there as otherwise it would be a totally boring picture. (Probably still is to anybody but me)!
