@marcomarks

oh those lights work great and do not overheat a room or subject, i still use hot lights for many things and in Chicago winter i need to turn on the air conditioning, windows don't work in my cave

the big thing, i see, is not mixing color temp, but i also do grip work on videos where the DP wants different color gels on all the lights

i like your experimental attitude, ever try painting with light?

True about the not mixing color temps. The new system will be all daylight because my auto correction will fix most of it and what it doesn't fix and I can fix in post editing.

Have never tried painting with light. Seems like it could be fun but I'm experimental on building stuff and saving money but not too experimental on photography itself.

I am currently focusing my efforts on portraiture and I am always seeking to capture a glimpse of my subject's real inner self that only happens when their guard is down for a fraction-of-a-second. Those are few and far between with some people and I am learning to bring them out more.

Hank, the example I posted before, is an IT engineer, acts totally business-like most of the time, people say he's too serious in regular life, and he has a hard time meeting women because of that "outer shield" personality. So I was happy to find the jovial side of him that only happened a few times during our session together as I joked around with him. He replaced a timer self-snapshot of himself with one of these portraits on a dating site and had 37 women interested within 15 minutes. It has exceeded 200 in a month and a half and he can't believe it.
