I love to find birds in the wild. They are a challenge for me as I am a novice by most standards.
Curlew calling
Hitching a ride Redwinged Blackbird and Redtail Hawk
Earning their wings (Young Redtail Hawks)
Longbilled Curlew
Ruffled his feathers
Redtail overhead
On Golden Wings
Got this by surprise
Their out there, way out there
Run turkey run!
Woodduck in Yakima
Dressed in his finest feathers
nice series! it's unusual to see a red-winged blackbird actually ON the back of a hawk like that. i've seen them do it with herons in the process of driving them away from the blackbird's nests, but they usually don't get quite so bold with the raptors. he must've been quite close to the RWBB's nest...
Great shots. Love the Eagle.
If you are a novice, your standards are pretty high.
I am just starting but I can tell you are no novice.
Excellent captures.
I just started digital photography in 2003 when I needed a hobby to get me out of the house more. Before that I had never even been on a computer. My experience before that was very limited to family vacation pictures! So I guess I am a novice compared to a lot of the folks on here! But I am pleased the folks find my shots worthy of their comments! Good or Bad!

I have seen red wing blackbirds chase hawks and osprey away when they get to close to their nests. Notice sometime how you will see a hawk or osprey with a missing feather in their wings or tails. I think it is the smaller birds plucking them. Maybe?
The large birds cannot maneuver like their smaller attackers so they just fly away with the smaller fighters all over them.
That eagle is a real predator.
Great shots.
I love birds of prey photos.
My favorite is the owl, they are hard to get, its a sharp image, and I love the pose!
Beautiful captures.
Love birds, too.
Went out looking for elk and bighorn sheep but only found a couple of eagles in a tree!
