Ok, there will not be pics from me on this one. My daughters home was 150 yards from Plaza Towers (Moore, Oklahoma)where 7 young grade school kids lost their lives. President Obama is due tomorrow but I will still be busy helping cleanup. What a terrible tragedy that no one should ever experience but we do in one form or another. I know this is a great country full of fantastic people and it was further proven today. In our microcosm area we were helped by people in the cleanup effort from Missouri, North Carolina, Texas, Kansas, as well as local residents. I am ashamed now to think that the last tornado experience I sat idly by and could have drove down to offer help.
The outpouring of medical, food, tools, and just about everything you can imagine was available for free as well as reduced to half price on bigger necessary ticket items. As for my daughter and husband we await a structural engineer for final check out on the house whether to be demolished or repairs so our cleanup is finished for now. This Memorial weekend will be spent not only remembering what our service men and women have given us and all the volunteers are doing that our family will continue helping everyone we can in the cleanup efforts so we can pay it forward. Have a happy rememorable Memorial Day fellow UHH'rs and may god be with each and everyone of us!!!

God bless you. Most of us don't realize how much help is appreciated until we face a disaster. This will be the best and the worst experience in your life. Prayers are with you as you rebuild your homes and lives.

Many thanks, but the credits really go to all who have helped and are helping and all those who contribute time, money, and resources. I view this as a life changing event and will change my response and reaction positively for the rest of my life. Bless you for the thoughts and care.

So sorry to hear, people just do not realize the devastation and/or the amount of work needed to be done. On another post related there has been debate about not allowing to rebuild and how their insurance rates are effected. I guess these people need to quit buying all insurance including life, healthy, etc,,, being they themselves are also subsidizing others misfortune, choices, and crime issues that can and do occur to the many.

We will keep the folks in Moore in our prayers, it will take a long time before things get back to normal. And it never will for the ones that lost love ones. Keep looking up.
