If they could have held out for a couple more years, it would have been thirty full years. There are dozens for sale on ebay. I had heard of Argus cameras, but I never knew they were so significant.

I grew up with this little Brownie Starlet and Dad bought me all the B&W film I wanted and they printed me contacts which was fine with me. My Dad had a Voigtlander 35mm and only shot transparencies....I got to get all that next time I go back to the old country before somebody throws all that away !(more stuff to hoard! lol)
Argus rings a bell...faint bell ! lol
At one point I wanted a Rollei 35SE ....had this thing for small cameras.....also wanted a Olympus OM when it came out, couldn't afford either...no big deal, I'll live. :)

Jerry, I'm not surprised one bit. My 1st. 35mm was a C3. I bought it at a pawn shop for I think, $19 in about "65". I loved the little gears on that thing.

I grabbed one of them at a garage sale today for $5. If I buy a few thousand more, I might be able to build a brick house.

While it works, the distances seem to be off. I might attempt this: http://arguscg.tripod.com/Repairing_the_Argus_C3.htm

No I got over it ! lol
I got into digital damn near at the beginning ...1mega pixel!
When it got to 3.2 pixels I put my 35 mm stuff away and thought it got lost till I found it while renovating the place here!
I don't yearn for much these days will make due with what I have for awhile thanks.

"I don't know what happened. I slammed the door and all the flashes went off at once!"

Oh, if you do build one, point the lenses out. Otherwise you will probably never walk around the house naked ever again.

In Wikipedia, it is called the "brick". At one time I lived in Rochester, NY and a friend, that worked at Kodak, called it the "Gold Brick", due to the fact that so many were sold.

It's interesting that a design comes along once in a while that strikes a chord with the public and just keeps selling and selling.
