Loc: Easton, PA but will travel for photos
I'm in the Orlando area, and I'm hoping someone local can tell me where I can find a camera store. I found Colonial Hobby in Orlando. Any others in this area? or at least within an hour+ drive? thanks

Thanks Traveler....I did 'Google' but I was looking for some feedback such as what Sinatraman provided. I'd rather go where someone has recommended. and besides with google you typically get every place that can spell "camera" LOL
Sinatraman is right..The wife and I left the Melbourne area in "08"
At the time, think Southern was closed for a while expanding or remodeling, forget which. But it is a great place, great people and framing department also. And besides, any time one can get out of the Orlando area it has to be a plus. Well worth the trip across "The Beachline."
North tampa photo in Tampa area
It's sad that camera stores are dissapearing at an alarming rate. I have to travel a couple hours to get to a Nikon dealer. I prefer buying from them, but at times, I must go to BH Photo online to get what I want.
Google for "photo shops Florida" to get a fairly good list of possibilities.

yes it is a shame. but people want to buy as cheap as they can (thus the constant "has anyone bought from joeschmuckatella .com ? questions) and fall prey to internet scammers. A good camera store can usually be competitive with the legitimate internet people and offers personnel service as well as a great place to meet fellow photog's and socialize. It like it's cousins the local cigar store, and the local barber shop are an american institution and should be supported.

I always try to buy from individually owned store first as long as price is not way too high.

If you want to travel a little south there is Marshall's Camera, 202 Lake Ave. East, Auburndale, Fl. 33823. They have tons of cameras, lens and anything you can think of for photography. The people there are a family and are very pleasant and are very knowlegeable. They also have a computer site.
Colonial Hobby is the most knowledgable in Orlando that I know of. That is where I go if I have a camera question. I understand they are also very good at developing your special pictures.
