This young deer hung out with a herd of horses for awhile...lucky for me...this allowed me to get a real close up. 300 cut the ear ;-)

Sweet image CW, she looks as though she as that "fight or flight" look.
I have had a look in download, and while I like the image it looks flat and neutral (might be intentional from your perspective). I would have tweaked the mid shadows a little to make it brighter and punchier and livelier.

Yeah... a pity about the ear but gorgeous shot never-the-less. Other than that its very well composed. I normally hate seeing names on pics, they are so intrusive (though I do understand the reasoning) but in this case its actually perfectly placed and adds to the overall balance of the pic so well done for that. A little tweek in contrast would help and perhaps a little brightening of the eye, just to add a little depth. I like it.

Thanks Peter...had my 300 prime...grabbed it quick and didn't have time to take a step back ;) Really appreciate all the great suggestions....I'm really lacking in the PP department...I do little or none. Would love to learn more about PP!

Isn't it exciting being so close to nature! I've had it happen to me also - so close you can almost touch it.
I have found if I move really slowly it may not flee before I get the picture.
You got a terrific shot of this young deer. Congrats.
I wanted to practice some photoshop skills so I attempted to graft the missing part of the ear. The technique is described here:
http://ninaceciliacreativespark.com/2012/06/photoshop-missing-ear/
Because the depth of field makes the ear out of focus I blurred the reversed ear tip a bit. I used the transform tool/reversed selection/rotated a tad & warped a bit to get the curve before I applied to an increased canvas.
I hope you don't mind. (Deleted from my hard drive).
Hang and frame it! Well done. - Charles.

Thanks for posting.
