Wide angle auxiliary lens on Canon G6

I bought this G6 a while back and it came with a "Vision Optics Titanium 0.48X Digital Wide Lens Made in Japan" as well as a Bower Adapter tube. Also included was a "DIGITAL OPTICS JAPAN 2.0X PRO HIGH DEFINITION" lens. The camera auto focus seems to work OK for the 2.0 lens, but I get an out of focus result with the 0.48 lens attached. Anybody in the group have experience with this "wide angle" lens on a G6? Is there some camera setting I should be using in conjunction with the wide angle lens in order to get good focus? I did not pay extra for the auxiliary lens, so there's no loss if it won't work, but if I can get it to work that would be a bonus.

Thanks in advance for any insight.
