Gator has Bass for lunch

I didn't see him catch this bass but noticed he had something in his mouth as he moved toward the shore. He just crawled onto shore and had a quick picnic. He wasn't concerned with me at all.

Thanks Bmac! This is the first shot I ever got of a gator actually eating something. The bass was alive when he crawled on shore but it's hard to imagine that this young gator caught this fish. Maybe he stole it from a bird or it was dropped by a bird and the gator got lucky. I really don't know.

I think they are much better hunters than most people realize. They get big, have multiplied and have had thousands of years to hone their skills. :D

Thanks Erv! I've taken 100's of shots of gators and this was the first actually eating something.....and he was an easy target. Even a blind squirrel eventually finds a nut. :) :)
