We had an air show this year at the BNAS, but the weather did not cooperate as the photo show. It was an overcast day and the sky was almost pure white, just what the Canon Rebel need.
Had to compensate by increasing the exposure by +1 over the recommended f stop. Got some decent shots, what do you think??

love air shows. i enjoyed your photos esp the b-25 mitchell. too bad about the white skies. hard to do anything in camera with them.

Love 'em! The white sky leaves room for some serious PP without affecting the original exposures.
Unless the Army skydiving team changed their name, they are the Golden Knights.
The F-4 Phantom is my favorite post WWII aircraft.
I'm not going to say how old I am, but that was the hot rock when I was in the Navy on board the USS Saratoga.

Wes, how did you get that background on the pic? Some of my pics would look so much better if I could just get rid of everything except for the subject or just pesky telephone poles and such (or add artistic effects).

It's all photoshop. I made a new layer, got a picture of clouds googling (clouds images).I used magic wand to select the background, erased it .... dragged the clouds to the B25 picture, then moved that layer behind the plane.
I hope you have Photoshop ... or Gimp.

I have neither. I think I remember seeing gimp as a free download...more my price point. I think I may try that. I downloaded a free HDR program that I can't figure out for the life of me. It seems to make like 10 different varieties of pics from the same shot, using different authors' settings.
