How to include people in model scenes?

Has anybody taken pictures of folks and then included them in pictures of their hobbies, etc. I've been approached by some to take their picture and then size them appropriately and put them into pictures of models such as cars, trains and planes.
Thank you for your help.

Of course the pose would have to be suitable for the trains, cars and planes...

What editing program do you use?
This is very simplified, but if your program is one that supports layers, put the model vehicle on one layer and the person on another layer. Then mask or erase the parts from each layer that you don't want to keep.

Only work on copies of your vehicle and people photos, never on the originals!

Other than Photoshop, what other programs can do this?

Well, I use Photoshop Elements.
Then there's Gimp, Corel programs, Xara Xtreme,....

So, what program do YOU use?

Yeah, 48 hours in a day would be nice.
I don't think that programs other than Photoshop would do this job any faster than Photoshop itself.

As to interruptions - some years ago, I actually put the car into the garage, turned off the ringer on the phone, and shut myself into the bedroom where the computer is.
In other words, made it look like I wasn't home. Worked like a charm ;-)

I use a program called Smart Photo Editor. It's a free download, and I've put people in backgrounds they had never visited. Why not a doll house? DJT

Same as greenscreen in that it's important to match your lighting (direction, color temp, etc.) for realistic look.

I use green screen wizard worth ever dollard. I use it at events taking photos of people and putting them where they would like be at that time. Youtube has a lot of videos on taking the background out. You can see some out the work I do at www.snapshots2010.com also a link that might help http://newportraitbiz.com/blog/digital-portrait-party-case-study-using-digital-backgrounds/
And for someone that dosen't know how to spell I make over $1,000 for a 3 day week and love it.
Look into event photography you can make a dam good living at it and like going to work. An pass it on!
