Interesting, having looked at in download I think a tighter crop would offer more balance; there is far to much dead space on the left hand side.

I would agree with Macro2009 and to be honest would not consider this a close up. The subject would benifit from closer cropping and bring it more into line with the close up set parameters..Nice image however..:-)

A stunning work of photographic art. Great composition, love that you didn't try to remove the spider webs, and your exposure is plum perfect. Add the fact of the unique aspect ratio, this enlarged and framed would be a sure winner.
The negative space pulls it all together very well. Gives the image an almost oriental feel. You might want to see how it looks with a horizontal flip?
