Hi I am a new member of the Hedgehog group. Was browsing the sections and came upon the classifieds. This prompted me to dig into the camera safe to retrieve the case of Leicas that have been sitting for 40 plus years. Looks like 2 bodies, 1 single stroke and 1 double stroke. 4 lens, 200,120, 90 and 35 along with a through the lens adapter, filters, light meter and several items I don't understand. I am nearing the end of my time so I would like to see what they are worth and pass them on to a good home. I can post a photo if that would help. They are in excellent condition. They are packed in a leather case lined with velvet.

I for one would be very interested in an inventory list, pictures and prices.
I will get some pics together along with an inventory, maybe tomorrow, it is getting past my bedtime. As for prices, I was hoping you'll could help me. I looked at some of the links containing prices, but most address a body and maybe one lens. There is what appears to be extension tubes, thru the lens adapter and stuff that is far beyond me. Maybe if I lay it out, photograph and the group can help identify the parts.
It would help to know what part of the world you're in too. Welcome to the forum by the way.
Good morning. I live in Southern California. I have an early appointment today. When I return I will work the pics.
This looks like an interesting forum. I love photography, not really good at it, but I work it.

Don't give that stuff away. Check out
www.apug.org. That is a group that specializes in film photography. I think you have some very special equipment there and my emotions would prefer to have the equipment go to a person who would appreciate it and use it and not just re-sell it. We have an organization here in Tampa called The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts.
http://fmopa.org/ Perhaps there is a similar organization in SoCal who could give you some guidance.

Looks a seriously good, and valuable Leica M3 (both cameras) outfit, do your research on prices-they are worth a lot.
I have an interest in your M3, since I sold my M8 expecting delivery of the new M. Seems as though Leica is super-slo in delivery. I am w/o a camera. I have M35-50-90 and R 50 -135- and 500. Let me know about your M3 and what you are asking.
What you have there is really quite valuable. Selling on this forum is likely to result in bargain shoppers trying to get the items at below market "steals".
I would suggest you itemize the items and send the list, along with photographs to KEH or B & H Photo, who will give you an honest quote on the wholesale value of the package and perhaps even some individual prices (wholesale). Direct sale of the items should be above the wholesale prices obtained from KEH or B & H or you may just wish to accept the combined wholesale price to avoid the hassle of selling piecemeal.
You are likely to be surprised at how much used Leica equipment, even film cameras, will bring, in particular the lenses, which are usable on modern digital cameras.
Just saying.
PaulDBowen, by chance an aviation photographer?
I know who you are asking about, but I am no relation.

I suggest you contact the following organization regarding your collection:
http://www.lhsa.orgIf you are serious about selling, contact Tamarkin Camera:
http://www.tamarkin.comDo not sell to a private party until you have confirmed the identity of the original or intended owner. Many special kits and combinations have been assembled and/or packaged for special purposes. The entire assembly may well be worth far more than the sum of the individual components.
Would dearly love to hear an update on the status on this fabulous Leica 'kit' if possible.....
What you have is to die for. There has to be a Leica collector with deep pockets who will pay a premium for such a collection. On ebay the 35mm if pristine would go for about $5000.
I am in love with that setup! Cant afford it but just WOW!
