I'm overly motivated in starting a hobby of photography after I read all the inputs and comments from this site not to mmention the sample pictures I've seen, in fact because of this I got myself a canon EOS 60d with an18 200mm lense when I saw there was a package sale at best buy, Now I'm so excited I don't know where to start, there are so many things to learn, what do you suggest I do?

get yourself a good introduction to photography book and start reading to underrstand the fundamentals. second grab your camera with one hand and the manual in the other. as you read your manual (EXTREMLY IMPORTANT) TOUCH THE BUTTONS AND PLAY WITH THE FUNCTIONS UNTILL YOU ARE COMFORTABLE. third set it on auto untill you are comfortable setting f stops and shutterspeeds and know depth of field. g shhoot, shoot shoot, post your photos here no more than 3 at a time, apply wjhat people tell you, shhot post repeat. I would also subscribe to popular photography magazine and save the issues. not only for the articles but look at and study the photos. what did you like? dislike? how would you have done it differently.

Well - very likely some will not agree. As you are pretty much starting out I would recommend you shot only in your automatic modes the first few weeks. Pay attention to what shutter speed, f;stop, and ISO speed the camera is taking the photos at - as these are not ideal but very good guide lines as to what can be done by you when you are ready to shot in the manual modes. Do not try to learn everything at once as you will get burnt out and not learn the finer details. Get a good basic book and look at the work of others, share what you do and ask questions.

Get the book: Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. This will be a Godsend in understanding why light is (one of) the most important factor in taking photos.
