Let's see some unknown photos that our photographers think are some of their best thought out shots. I know that in the olden days we did a lot of work in the darkroom, but we're looking for just out of the camera, before any post-processing.

That would be at least 90% of mine! I very RARELY edit my photos, other than cropping. Once in a while I get one where I want to "enhance" or "play" with it, but I always try to "get it right" in the camera.

No such thing, really, especially JPEG. I can set my T2i to photo style 0,0,0,0 & my 7d to 4,0,3,2 & my P&S to "vivid" and get 3 different result of the same subject.

You're a good man, Wahawk. I do about the same amount as you do. Even when I shoot Raw, I do very little, as needed and then convert. I'd rather spend time out there photographing.

Guess I am still using my old "film day's" habits. Take the time to make sure it is correct when you shoot it. Also kinda reflects on my attitude towards being a "natural-look" photographer.

That said, I am starting to do a lot of "background" shoot to use as replacements for times when I can't get the backgrounds I want. Also have played a bit with flowers, changing backgrounds to solid color for impact, but that is still way less than 10% of my shots.

That all sounds good to me! I'm about the same! When I'm in the mood I get out the old Exacta and shoot a roll. Got to take care cause its expensive to waste any shot. It sorta makes you think more about lighting, composition, etc. all the things you had to do before digital.. Don't get me wrong, I love digital and all you can do with it, but maybe it's too much of a good thing. Lets have "PhotoCare"' , a system where all aspiring photographers have to shoot film for a year to learn the basics and go and then go on to shoot digital.I guess I'm dating myself. Everything is too easy now. Just read where they're going to have cars that drive themselves. ugh

This would result in a lot less photographers. And a lot less people who started doing weddings because they just bought a $450 camera with a kit lens charging $600.

I'm not as good as Wahawk! I trash 90 of mine, then do varying degrees of post the the 10% that are left.
Since I shot at 0 sharpening, they ALL need sharpening.
But, if I knew how to use my CS6, all the women in my fotos would be 10's. Even the ones that are a hundred years old would all have Cindy Crawford's head!

If i had been told i had to shoot film for a year before i could go digital I would have had a more healthy bank balance as i would never and i mean never have gone that way, there is no way that taking 20 or so pics would be as good as hundreds.

Take a look at any of my posts as I don't even crop any of mine although there are some I wish I could.
Once you start to change thing to make it perfect the photo loses its true meaning .

I love my Exacta! Best camera ever! Can't really afford film costs anymore, but compare all digital to the Exacta and they come up short! Only thing better, but way too expensive comparatively, is my Pentax 5x7. Was thinking of selling my old cameras, then got a Pentax K 30, want to try the 5x7lenses on it. Need to figure out how to use the Exacta Lense on the Pentax dslr also. Any idea on how to get an adapter for that?

I agree with you Karen, the Exacta is the best camera I ever had. It's the one I've learned most of my good photography on. I still use it once in a while. Everything on it still works. Only problem is my light meter. It's pooping out. Going to have to get a new one. Any suggestions for an L cheapo?
